Day 35: This and that...One month stats

Today was a pretty good day. We went to a dollar movie. Unfortunately, between the two movies, I choose the dumbest one to take a two-year old two. The Adventures of Tin Tin is not all that exciting for a toddler AND someone gets shot in the movie. I can tell it's the same person that made Polar Express and I'm just not crazy about their style. The animation is TOO real and everything seems super dark. Not to mention, the theme song is played a million times. So she lasted a good 10 minutes and then started running up and down the isles shushing everyone and attacking the lights on the ground that guide you out of the theater. It was one of those times when you know you probably need to act stern to the public whose movie is being disturbed, but I couldn't hold back my chuckles. So we walked out and wandered around the mall for a while.
We also made some DE-lish cookies. Jadyn called them "Cookie Monster Cookies".
We also finally got Jaxon in for his one-month check up. And the states are....drum roll please:
Height: 91st percentile
Weight: 49th
Head: 81st

Go Jaxon go! He's gonna tower over his sister and I for sure.

Day 34: Morning squish

This happens every morning...Pups go home in a few days. It's a bittersweet. At least I won't find pee on my pillow anymore.

Day 33: Sup

Jadyn is way into rearranging furniture lately. Maybe she thinks my feng shui is off.

Day 32: Sunday

Jace had been gone from thursday to saturday afternoon, so we took Sunday as an opportunity to do nothing but enjoy each other. We made a list of all the things we wanted to do that day. One thing on the list was buy our first Disney Classic: Lion King. It made me overwhelmingly happy to see Jadyn enjoy it and to sing all the songs with Jace while we made dinner.

Day 30: Two more babies.

We took on two more babies for the week: Molly and Rocky. Jace also happened to be going out of town for the weekend, so I had 4 babies for a day and a half. It was...interesting. Jadyn learned how to walk a dog, sorta.

Day 29: Children's Museum

Let it be known that I am blogging about this day ON this day. It doesn't get more current than this.

We went to the Children's Museum in Lafayette today! I have a good friend in Denver with a daughter just about 6 months younger than Jadyn. I think of any excuse to get together with them because Brandy is definitely a kindred spirit. I feel very much myself around her and we always have tons to talk about. We also have been prego with number two around the same time. She is due with another girl next month. Fun!

The beautiful little Christine.

 The day ended like this...

Day 28: Green

4 weeks old!

Day 27: Splash Pad

It has been HOOOOOTTTTTT over here. We met Dad at the splash pad after work. It helped a little, but still hot. I miss in between winter and summer.Yes, I believe they call that Spring.

For the past three days or so Jadyn has insisted on leaving the house like this. I certainly won't stunt creativity while it's still cute!

Day 26: I am grateful

I am grateful to have a husband to miss.
To have children that drive me crazy.
A house to clean.
Food to cook.
Money to budget.
An unmade bed to climb into every night.
An aching body that is healing.

To feel things with too much intensity.
To have feelings so close to the surface that I cry
during a commercial.
To know I can be better.
To make mistakes I learn from.

I am grateful for days of too much TV.
For the following days of too much sun.
For a queen bed that just barely fits the four of us
when we're not quite ready to get up.
For a washing machine that cleans all the spit ups and blow outs.

I am grateful to fall to my knees in gratitude every night and know that this is all mine.

Day 25: Daddy's Day

I was going to get super sentimental in this post, but then I remembered we took pictures in fake mustaches and it would be like trying to have a serious conversation with someone wearing a...well a fake mustache.  I will say this; his children levitate towards him. They want to be just like him and I know that desire will only grow as they get more aware.

He is willing to laugh at the pain, giggle when we're fighting, and find the positive in any negative situation.
He is the coolest dad and the best husband a girl could ask for.
Happy Father's Day my sweetheart. I love you a bushel and a peck.

Heck, he did a photo shoot in a fake mustache for me!

Day 24: Some TLC with my babes.

As hard as it is to let Jace leave me...like ever...he went to support his sister, Jessie in a performance she had spent the last two weeks working on with a dance company in Denver. So I bathed my babies and got them in some snuggly jammies. There is nothing better than a freshly bathed baby. They smell SO GOOD! We then worked on a Father's Day card for the Daddy, then I tucked them into bed.

Mmm Life is good.

"Color coes (toes) coo (too) Mommy??"

Day 23: Um...That's a lot of kids.

Our neighbors haven't been on a date in about 3 years, so we offered to watch their two boys so they could knock that record off. So it was us+ our 2 kids+ 3 cousins+ 2 more boys...it was a lot. We managed pretty well, but at the end did what any sane parent would do: we put them in front of a movie with pillows and blankets and waited for them to drop like flies.

Day 22: Oh Holy Nostalgia

Wasn't it just yesterday that my cousin, my sister and I were thrown in a bath together and our moms were scrubbing behind our ears? And now, here we are, bathin' our babes. My Aunt threw a little Post-Baby shower for me so my cousins could all give Jaxon a squeeze and shower me with gifts. My dear cousin, Carly was still there with her Scarlett so we had balls of fun.

See that cheese smile Jadyn's giving? My child to the core.

Day 21: Full House

My mom, my sister-in-law and her three boys came for a visit this week. Jadyn was so over-the-top excited to see "her boys" as she calls them. We really had to be creative about channeling their energy all week. Good thing we had a wadding pool.

Day Nineteen: Modesty

It's pretty tricky to be too modest with your kids when they follow you everywhere and want to learn about everything. It hasn't really mattered up to this point, but Jadyn is getting curious and much more verbal. Long story short: Before Jace took Jadyn in the shower with him today (a very out of the ordinary request for her because she hates showers), he wore a swim suit for protection. He ended up with the two kids in the shower...in a swim suit.

I could not stop laughing at him. It was adorable.

Day Eighteen: mmm Sundays

I love Sundays. I love having a day devoted to letting go of everything else and focusing on what matters. The night before was a pretty long one for Jaxon and I, so I decided the two of us should take advantage of that "newborn incubator" time and stay home from church. Jace agreed with me, so I stayed in bed while he got Jadyn fed, dressed and packed her church bag, then got himself ready. He did it all by himself! I didn't leave the bed once. And he did church with her all by himself.

As patronizing as this may seem, it really is a tough thing for him to jump into our regimented schedule we follow throughout the week and be able to picks things up all by himself. I was very proud of him.
